Flight Reference and Stabilization System (FRSS).

Abstract

A complete flight reference and stabilization system was designed. Four units were fabricated and tested. Several test programs were conducted. In-house laboratory and flight tests demonstrated performance in the 2 to 4 nmph range. Tests were conducted by the British Aircraft Company and the Royal Navy. Engineering evaluation tests were conducted at Holloman Air Force Base, Central Inertial Guidance Test Facility. Validation tests were initiated and terminated before completion at Holloman Air Force Base, Inertial Guidance Test Facility. A production cost estimate was made for 1000 units based on the cost of the initial engineering models. (Author)
