Perforated Metallic Shells for Radome Applications.

Abstract

The report continues earlier work on dielectric-coated, perforated metallic radomes. A new radome was fabricated with the same shape as the previous cones (30 degree half angle); however, this new cone did not have seams, which it is believed may have caused some transmittance loss in the previous radomes. The perforations or apertures had the same size as those in the earlier cone and the lattice pattern was hexagonal and nearly identical to the earlier cone. (Author)
