Feasibility Model of a Channelized Self-Managing UHF Satellite Repeater.

Abstract

A breadboard model of a UHF channelized self-managing repeater was constructed and used for simulated performance measurements of a satellite hybrid repeater handling both frequency-translation channels (two-frequency operational mode) and back-to-back channels (single-frequency operational mode). Subsystem test results are presented. The feasibility of the hybrid approach and the superiority of demodulating/remodulating repeaters) over non-processing types) is proven. Recommendation for additional investigations are presented. (Author)
