Glass Fiber Reinforced Motor Component Evaluation,

Abstract

The objective of this study was to generate additional engineering technology that would increase the confidence in using fiberglass filament wound motor components. The motors used in this program were 2.56-inch fiberglass filament wound (case inside a case) design. The results of the evaluation of various dome linear candidates for slow loading conditions, and the evaluation of various fabrication and material variables that could be utilized in future component production are summarized.
