Reefing Line Cutter Cartridge Testing.
Abstract
Reefing line cutter explosive cartridges, manufactured by Atlas Chemical Industries, Inc., have a maximum shelf life of 3 years. Three groups of fifty 10-year old cartridges were tested to determine the reliability of the delay element of each cartridge. Test results indicated that the time delay built into the cartridges was always within tolerance, but that some of the cartridges had deteriorated with respect to their performance. (Author)
