Development Summary of Catalyst Generator WMU-1/B.

Abstract

Previously the Naval Weapons Center (NWC) discovered and patented the concept of using silver iodate (AgIO3) in a pyrotechnic composition that would give off extremely fine particles of silver iodide (AgI). The formulations had been field tested and verified to be highly effective in weather modification experiments. These preliminary experiments led to AgI seeding in three major hurricane control projects. The report presents the chronological development of the Catalyst Generator WMU-1/B, Models W-1, EX 1 Mod 0, EX 4 Mod O and XCL-1 through SCL-6. (Author)
