The Effect of Anonymity on the Responses to the First Class Questionnaire - Class of 1971,

Abstract

One-third of the Class of 1971 was asked not to sign their First Class Questionnaires in order to study the effect of anonymity on the responses. No differences in response patterns were found between the signed and unsigned questionnaires. The responses of the members of the separate regiments do not differ despite the near unanimous assertion that the regiments do differ in the administration of the Fourth Class System. In order to determine what the First Classmen are referring to when they assert that the regiments differ in the administration of the Fourth Class System, it would be necessary to ask them for specific ways in which the regiments differ.
