Antenna Study for HF D/F Application.

Abstract

An applied research program was conducted in electronic warfare direction finding techniques. Against HF (2-30 MHz) radio signals to significantly improve the D/F accuracy on multipath signals by use of state-of-the-art equipment and techniques. Specifically it was desired to devise and demonstrate a transportable automated D/F antenna (and associated electronics for data processing) immune to interfering signals and external RF noise encountered in a tactical environment.
