Solid State Doppler Sensor Investigation.

Abstract

The report describes the investigations for a new airborne solid state doppler sensor that provides 3-axis velocity data for doppler navigation with greatly improved accuracy and low lag. Heading velocity estimation within 0.05% is achieved with smoothing times less than 0.5 seconds for a velocity range from 50 to 2000 knots for altitudes from 0 to 100,000 feet. An unmodulated CW solid state transmitter of 4 watts is provided for a 4 beam Janus stripline hardmounted planar array using a series feed network. (Author)
