LSQ a Least-Squares Orthogonal Polynomial Interactive Graphics Curve Fitting Program.

Abstract

The report describes the interactive graphics program LSQ - A Least Squares Polynomial Program that fits bivariate data up to an 11th degree polynomial using an orthogonal polynomial method. The program is a Fortran IV program for the CDC 6500 digital computer with CDC 1700/274 interactive graphics system. Topics covered in this report are a description of the graphics terminal, the input data, the graphical options, the printed and hard copy outputs, and the mathematical model. (Author)
