Wind Tunnel Test of a Model Utilizing Vectored Thrust for In-Flight Maneuverability.

Abstract

The report presents an analysis of the limited available data from a transonic wind tunnel test of a powered propulsive wing aircraft concept. The model was tested to evaluate the in-flight maneuverability characteristics of the concept resulting from the inherent thrust vectoring capabilities associated with trailing edge flap deflections. The wind tunnel test was terminated after three of the four propulsive wing fans failed during the second night of testing. (Author)
