Prime Item Fabrication Specification for Data Link Control-Monitor Set Shelter Mounted AN/TKD-1.

Abstract

This specification establishes the requirements for manufacture and acceptance of a data link control-monitor set, shelter mounted, CI Number 343N832. The CI described herein is an air transportable and ground mobile shelter. The shelter is used to establish and maintain the Data Link interface between the surveillance aircraft and the ground station. The shelter shall be operable within an external temperature range of -30 F to +125 F, withstand a storage envirionment of -60 F to +160 F, withstand wind loads of 109 knots with shelter guyed (87 knots with shelter unguyed), and withstand ice loads equivalent to 2 inches of glazed ice. The calculated maximum weight of the shelter with payload and transporter shall be 9080 pounds when the shelter is configured for transport.
