Introduction to Information Theory.
Abstract
This report was prepared in response to the need of system engineers. It is an attempt to present information theory concisely but yet with enough explanation so that the engineer can see the implications of the theory on his future systems. The basic aim of the report is to introduce terminology. It is difficult to present theory without a certain amount of mathematics; but the mathematics should be seen as a shorthand of communication. Since the report stresses concepts, an index is provided at the end of the report.
