A Method for Selecting a Computer Remote Terminal System.

Abstract

The selection of a remote terminal, a time-sharing computer vendor, and the communications option to interconnect them, is a complex task involving many variables and technical concepts. In this study the concepts of operation, technical terminology and performance characteristics of teleprinters, alphanumeric cathode ray tubes, modems, and communications options are described. In addition a logical and systematic approach for terminal system selection is presented. (Author)
