Rubber-Fibrous Materials Composites.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to develop composites of rubber and fibrous materials having properties useful for Army weapon applications that require resistance to petroleum-based oils, fuels and steam. Butadiene/acrylonitrile, epichlorchydrin, silicone, urethane, and vinyl/butadiene rubbers are investigated for use in the fabrication of packings and gaskets for weapon applications. Various physical properties of these rubber composites are presented. (P.S.-PL)
