Plates on Elastic Foundations Under Static and Dynamic Loading. Volume I. Static Analysis of Plates on Generalized Elastic Foundation.

Abstract

The investigation treats a wide variety of problems for the bending of plates on Hetenyi foundations. A mathematical formulation is developed and consists of an eight order differential equation that can usually be separated into equivalent fourth order differential equations and be solved as the more simple elastic foundation theories. The cases of various loading conditions of an infinitely extended plate is considered in detail and the solutions have been expressed in an explicit form. Also included in the analysis of finite circular plates on general elastic foundations are exact and approximate solutions. (Author)
