FSK Display Digital Data Link.
Abstract
An evaluation is given of a parallel-to-serial-to-parallel data conversion and transmission system built with advanced transistor-transistor logic integrated circuits to implement a unique self-clocking FSK mode of information transfer. The FSK technique used is shown to be a reliable means of transmitting serial data over long coaxial cables at high bit rates (10 to 12 megabits per second), and it is demonstrated that hf logic systems can be constructed by modern fabrication techniques. Parallel-to-serial-to-parallel links are practical and may possibly operate at bit rates up to 100 megabits per second. (Author)
