Rotary-Reciprocating Cryogenic Refrigeration System Studies. Part II. Computer Program.

Abstract

The report describes a computer program which has the capability of selecting, analyzing and optimizing rotary-reciprocating cryogenic refrigeration systems to meet specific cooling requirements. Four reversed Brayton cycles were programmed. For a given cycle and cooling load, the program balances the thermodynamic flowsheet and sizes the various components of the refrigeration system. The report describes the mathematical models and numerical methods used in the program, as well as the computer program and its use. A listing of the FORTRAN coding and a sample problem are included.
