Plates on Elastic Foundations Under Static and Dynamic Loading. Volume II. Traveling Loads on Elastic Foundation.

Abstract

The report treats several problems for steady-state response of an infinite plate on a Winkler foundation subject to traveling concentrated forces. In the mathematical analysis, a superposition technique was used and reduced the separate loads on a plate analogous to one plate subjected to line loads. This simplification allows an exact and complete solution for the problem of moving concentrated forces. The technique of superposition is now feasible due to the use of modern high-speed computers.
