Program for Automated Cost Estimating (PACE),
Abstract
This document was prepared as a reference manual for Cost Analysts using the PACE computer cost model developed at the Army Missile Command. The PACE Manual discusses automation of Life Cycle Cost Studies and provides detailed instructions for use of the PACE Cost Model. The logic incorporated in the model is presented in the manual. Also, a sample case is included, which illustrates preparation of the computer input data sheets and provides examples of the computer printouts. A copy of the FORTRAN Program is also included in the manual. The PACE Cost Model develops time-phased Life Cycle Costs and presents the results in a variety of cost display formats. Input to the computer consists of cost factors, which the computer uses in conjunction with the Cost Estimating Relationship (CER) subroutine selected by the Analyst to project time-phased costs for each element of cost. The program was designed for easy addition or change of program modules to incorporate changes in methods of calculations or report formats. Summary cost data and special reports may be generated by the model as well as detail cost reports.
