Field X-Ray Diffractometer for Surface Stress Determinations in Naval Structures.

Abstract

The objective of the work was to develop automated mobile X-ray diffraction equipment and techniques for nondestructive determination and surveillance of surface stresses in important service structures. The automation is required to reduce human error, increase the speed, and reduce the cost of the analysis. (Author)
