Marine Corps Cargo Transfer in Combat Operations.

Abstract

The objective of the study was to determine what hardware is required to improve the supply system of the Marine Corps in combat. The scope of the study included the materials handling equipment needed to move cargo from the manufacturer or supplier through to the using unit in the field. A qualitative approach was used to investigate the routine materials handling requirements at all echelons in the combat zone. Specific recommendations are given for a family of equipment suitable for handling standard pallets as well as newer forms of palletized and containerized cargo. (Author)
