An Analysis of the Effects of an All-Volunteer Force on the Recruitment of Air Force Logistics Officers.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of an All-Volunteer force on the procurement of officers to fill the positions in the Air Force Logistics Career Area. Specifically, examination was made of various reports, questionnaires, and statistical data to determine whether the draft has been a motivating factor in the procurement of officers in the past. Secondly, available data was used in order to predict specific factors which might motivate young men to volunteer to serve as officers in the United States Air Force under an All-Volunteer program.
