Advanced Collective Protection System Design Studies.

Abstract

The objectives of the research are to investigate and establish through a comprehensive literature survey, theoretical studies, and laboratory investigations, the feasibility of: Using charcoal beds at elevated temperatures for removal of toxic chemical vapors; and Using heated reactive metal surfaces for the removal of breakdown products from chemical agents decomposed by catalytic or thermal decomposition. The present report discusses the laboratory experimental equipment to be used to test the agent adsorption and decomposition on carbon. (Author)
