Production Engineering Measure for Solid Encapsulated Semiconductor Devices. Volume I.

Abstract

Transistors built on the pilot line developed on this contract were submitted as first article contract samples and also as final production run contract samples. The first article sample sample shipment and the final production run shipment were both made on the original scheduled due dates. Upon receipt by the Army, both the first article sample shipment and the final production run shipment were accepted as satisfactory. There were no program delays or program modifications on this contract. It was twice demonstrated on this contract that the contract developed transistor pilot production line produced transistors which passed all environmental and reliability test requirements. These test requirements included: temperature cycle, solderability, shock, vibration, acceleration, high temperature life, steady-state operating life, power cycling, back-bias moisture resistance, and salt atmosphere tests. The high temperature life, the steady-state operating life, the back-bias moisture resistance, and the power cycling tests were special tests devised for this contract; all of these special tests except the power cycling test were 1000 hour tests.
