Carrier Containerization Concept Study.

Abstract

The primary objective of the study was to determine the feasibility of the containerization concept. This required the identification and investigation of those factors that would be affected by the containerization program. In order to ensure that all important factors were considered, the study was divided into the following major tasks: operations and cost analysis; equipment and spares analysis; container installation analysis; shore sites analysis; container design analysis; container handling and transportation analyses; and carrier retrofit analysis.
