AN/AIC-27(V)(XA-1) Aircraft Interphone System.

Abstract

The AN/AIC-27(V) is a versatile and flexible interphone system for aircraft, employing a central control, or switchboard, concept. It introduces multiplexing of the crew station control signals onto a single pair of wires. These signals establish all transmit and receive interconnections. The AN/AIC-27(V) system demonstrates that very low crosstalk and hum levels can be achieved by carrying the interstation audio signals on balanced twisted pairs of wires. This new interphone provides several interlocked transmit modes, a CALL mode override that permits emergency operation in the event of partial system failure, RED/BLACK channel interlocks, and many other useful features.
