Impact of Containerization on Future Ship Design.

Abstract

This report summarizes a study of the flow of ammunition, provisions and stores from CONUS to consumers in ships at sea. Customer demand and the cargo handling capabilities of the underway replenishment system were examined for potential container applications and implications for future ship design. (Author)
