Electronically Tuned High Power Network.

Abstract

This report summarizes the work accomplished during the seventh quarter of a study effort to develop electronically tuned matching networks intended for use with manpack radios. The final design and test evaluation results of a 10-watt parallel mode 30-76 MHz antenna matching network are presented and discussed in Section 2. New problems introduced by the add-on program for a 2-80 MHz coupler with much broader impedance matching requirements are described in Section 3. An analysis has been made of a practical RF network design, and component requirements determined. Also, twelve ferrite materials recommended as potentially useful in the network design have been evaluated and the significant results are presented and discussed. In conclusion, the present status and future design plans of the 2-80 MHz coupler program are discussed and a schedule of the proposed activities is given. (Author)
