Grain Stress Analysis Study - Phases II and III (OOAMA/RPL Stress Motor SN 0012257)

Abstract

The report presents a theoretical stress analysis of OOAMA/RPL motor S/N 0012257. The analysis involved motor tip-over from horizontal to vertical position and rerun of the board course reported previously in Thiokol document TWR-4728. The results reported represent a major step in the use of instrumented motors to verify the accuracy of modulus dependent predictions of rocket motor grain structural behavior.
