UH-1N Category II Climatic Laboratory Tests (APPENDIX III). Volume II.

Abstract

This test data run lasted 1.0 hour. Engines were started using hangar power. After holding 75-percent torque for 2.5 minutes and 50-percent torque for 5.7 minutes, a short flight was simulated by holding computed cruise power (36 percent torque) for approximately 11 minutes. The heater was turned on at 100-percent Nf and remained on throughout the cruise power test to obtain bleed air temperatures and flows representative of flight at -45 degrees F. Topping power checks were subsequently made on both engines with and without heater operation. Parameter numbers 052, 053, and 054 reached the transducer limits of 200 psig from about 09:02:08 until 09:03:38. Ten critical temperatures were measured.
