Hydrological Actuator for Tactical Weapon Delivery Control Augmentation System.

Abstract

The report describes work accomplished under contract F33615-67-C-1107 which included the design, fabrication and laboratory partial flight evaluation of a redundant stabilator servoactuator for an F-4C aircraft. The redundant servoactuator described in this report was designed for use in the Tactical Weapon Delivery Program. The servoactuator operates in conjunction with a high gain, self-adaptive, control augmentation system featuring full series authority in the pitch axis and incorporating hydrologic techniques for automatic failure detection and correction at the stabilator power control actuator. Evaluation of the redundant servoactuator was accomplished in laboratory and flight tests. Representative results of flight tests are included in this report as well as results of laboratory testing.
