Wind Tunnel Investigation of the Transonic Static Stability Characteristics of a Bluff Body Shape with Various Afterbody-Stabilizer Configurations

Abstract

An investigation was conducted in the wind tunnel to obtain the static stability characteristics of a bluff body shape with various afterbody- stabilizer configurations. Data are presented for a Mach number range from 0.6 to 1.3 over an angle-of-attack range from -2 to 28 deg. The static margin was studied for configurations having the largest span swept and unswept blade-type fins.
