Development of Constitutive Equations for Pavement Components. Volume I.

Abstract

A brief description of constitutive equations is presented, including the derivation of typical generalized relationships. The extent to which available response relationships may be used to represent the true response of pavement materials is discussed. Classifical failure theories are considered in terms of their applicability to real materials, and the basis for various limiting criteria utilized within the field of pavement mechanics is discussed. A concise outline of current work, theoretical and experimental, is presented. (Author)
