Pirelli Closed Circuit Scuba.
Abstract
The report covers the inspection of a Model S-901 Pirelli closed-circuit oxygen underwater breathing apparatus. It is one of several assigned to the operating forces. The inspection was to determine if the apparatuses in general should be declared unsafe for use. The inspection consisted of three phases: (1) A visual inspection and comparison with descriptions given in previous evaluations. (2) A test of the ease of readying the apparatus for operation in accordance with the manufacturer's pamphlet. (3) An inspection of the disassembled comonents. (Author)
