Cross Coupling Effects in a Telescope System.

Abstract

Cross coupling effects in a precision telescope system have been investigated. Two mechanisms for the cross coupling were examined, gyroscope output axis coupling and anisoinertia anisoinertia troques. The gyroscope output axis effect is the dominant mechanism, and two methods of compensation are investigated. These include electronic compensation and gyroscope output axis reorientation, both of which were found to be reasonably successful methods for reducing the cross coupling. (Author)
