LES Unit Semi-Closed Circuit Mixed-Gas Scuba.

Abstract

This evaluation was made to determine the suitability of the LES Unit for Naval service and to determine its advantageous features. The apparatus was tested objectively by breathing machine depth tests with respiratory pressure instrumentation, and subjectively by depth swimming tests and swimming pool runs. Breathing machine test results are summarized as graphs of peak respiratory pressure against depth. Depth swimming run results are summarized as graphs of carbon dioxide and oxygen levels. Swimming pool runs are summarized narratively. The results are discussed and lead to specific conclusions about the apparatus and its suitability for Naval service.
