Systems Research for Radar, ECM and Communications Systems.

Abstract

The objective of this effort is to define where the Navy is going in electronic systems development and how to get there, i.e., what is realizable as a future system and what supporting research is needed to implement this realization. It is anticipated that the systems research herein will lead to the possible future realization of systems capable of performing several functions in an automatic fashion. The system definition is based on mathematical functions and operations. The initial objectives involved establishing system mathematics. The mathematics has been applied to the problem of achieving a system which combined the mathematical functions of radar and communication. The system selected employs the communication M-ary Waveform. Mathematics for achieving a radar is the prime objective. (Author)
