Maintenance and Enhancement of the AED System.

Abstract

The Automated Engineering esign (AED) System is a comprehensive computer programming system that effectively automates the production of computer software. Four maintenance distributions of improved and corrected AID versions were distributed to the AED users during that two-year period. Techniques were developed for system error correction, record keeping, and distribution. Five major enhancements added during the period include a symbol print facility for the AED compiler, a source program for re-formatting system, and a series of test sets for testing compiler language features. A newsletter was distributed bi-monthly to nearly 2,000 recipients to promote the use of AED. The second year of maintenance support saw the nucleus of a group organization formalized to ensure continued availability of AED as a major software technology for both industry and government projects.
