Maximum Oxygen Content of Flowing Eutectic NaK in a Stainless Steel System.

Abstract

The maximum oxygen content of eutectic sodium-potassium alloy (78% K - 22% Na) was determined by sampling directly from a flowing stream after periodic oxygen additions. Samples were taken at various temperatures up to 1000 F. A curve is presented showing the weight per cent oxygen found as a function of temperature. As the oxygen content of the system was increased the performance of the E.M. pump and flowmeter was observed and is described in this report. (Author)
