On the Iterative Solution of a System of Equations,

Abstract

The problem for consideration is the solution of the system of simultaneous equations: x(sub j) = (f(sub j)) (x(sub 1), x(sub 2), ... x(sub n) where 1 < or = j < or = n. Vector notation is introduced to facilitate the computation of a root in an open convex region of n-dimensional space. Series convergence and divergence are discussed with approximations and matrix techniques to facilitate series convergence. Several examples demonstrate this is a powerful method to accelerate the determination of the root.
