Newspapers and Their Readers. Volume 1. A Case Study of a Minnesota Weekly and Daily Newspaper.

Abstract

Problems of this study fell into two main groups: Detailed description of the reader audience, and a content analysis of the two papers. Two newspapers which had been studied during the war years were studied. Thus wartime content and readership can be compared with that of 1948--a year of much internal changes, but not a year of active war. Beyond this, the similarities and contrasts of two kinds of newspapers, a small city daily and a county-seat weekly, were analyzed.
