Mission Analysis on Command and Control Communications for Theater Air Operations. Final Report on Switch Systems Study.

Abstract

This report presents the results of a study performed by the RCA Government Systems Division, Camden, N.J., on behalf of the Electronic Systems Division of the Air Force Systems Command. The study was directed at providing parametric relationships that can be used as a guide for determing the cost of achieving modularity and flexibility in switch design. The report identifies the configurations studied, establishes the ground rules used in developing the parametric costs and presents these costs in the form of parametric cost curves based on the variations of the identified subsystems with switch size. It further identifies areas of 'forcing' costs and of future technological development. (Author)
