Abstract
Drafts of seven proposed military documents are presented as Appendices to this final report. The documents are: (1) Proposed Military Standard -- Infrared Terms and Definitions (2) Proposed Military Standard -- Optically Pumped, Q-Switched, Solid State Lasers; Definitions and Test Methods (3) Proposed Addendum to Military Specification MIL-O-13830, Optical Systems and Components for Infrared Applications (4) Proposed Military Standardization Handbook -- Optical Systems and Components for Infrared Applications; Engineering Guide to the Specification and Measurement of Quality (5) Proposed Military Standardization Handbook -- An Engineering Manager's Guide to the Testing of Infrared Systems and Components (6) Proposed Military Standardization Handbook, Real-Time Electro-Optical Imaging Systems; Tutorial Guide to the Specification of Performance (7) Proposed Military Standardization Handbook -- Infrared Systems; Components and Test Equipment. This final report and proposed documents are the result of the second phase of a two-phase program for the development of improved processes and techniques in the manufacture, inspection and specification of infrared components.
