Inventory, Description and Evaluation of the DoD Manpower Information System.

Abstract

This DoD study was performed by the Central All-Volunteer Force Task Force in response to Task Order No. 1, 'DoD Manpower Information System.' The Task Force was directed to survey the DoD automated personnel record systems to determine the capability to meet the manpower information needs of planners and decision makers concerned with achieving the goal of an All-Volunteer Force. The study included six major data files containing current and historical information. Methodologies and data used to make forecasts or projections of manpower requirements, supply, losses or retention were not surveyed. (Author)
