Modifications to the Help Code for Modeling Plugging Failure: User's Manual.

Abstract

To simulate plugging failure, the HELP code essentially generates a plug package the shape and mass of which are determined by a plastic work failure criterion and by the associated angle of maximum shearing stress. The vertical interface between the plug and target packages is treated as a slip surface, allowing the plug and target to have relative motion tangent to that interface. This report describes the additions and changes made to the documented version of the HELP code for evolving a plug package as well as a slip surface. (Author)
