Design of an ELF Loop Antenna Receiver.

Abstract

A low noise figure ELF receiver was designed and fabricated to measure the noise characteristics of the flexible loop antenna towed from a submarine. The receiver includes a degaussing circuit to control the antenna core flux density in the presence of the geomagnetic field. A noise figure analysis is presented for matching the inductive source impedance of the flexible loop antenna to a low noise amplifier. (Author)
