Seek Gun - AMD 420 30mm and GPU-2/A 20mm Gun Pod Test.
Abstract
A program was conducted to determine the feasibility and compatibility of the AMD 30mm and GPU-2/A gun pods for use with the A-37 airplane. The quick-look limited tests consisted of one ground firing test, one captive flight, and four air-ground firing missions for each type pod. Both gun pods functioned satisfactorily and did not cause any adverse effect on airplane performance. Based on the limited tests, the AMD 420 and GPU-2/A gun pods are considered satisfactory for use on the A-37. It is recommended that follow-on tests be conducted with both gun pods on the A-37.
