UH-1N Category 2 Test Program Summary

Abstract

As tested, the UH-1N helicopter was considered adequate to fulfill its mission as an attack and utility helicopter. Operations in climatic extremes were satisfactory; however, the lack of anti-ice systems reduced the all-weather capability. The airframe, fuselage compartment, flight controls, electric utility system and armament system were generally satisfactory. Good single- engine performance enhanced the satisfactory dual-engine performance capabilities of the helicopter. Flying qualities were satisfactory throughout most of the flight envelope.
