Alternate Design Approaches for 10-30 MHz Antennas on DLG's.

Abstract

The report presents analyses, test results, and conclusions resulting from a study of DLG 16 antenna arrangements in the 10-30 MHz frequency range. Various arrangements were tested. The antenna types considered were the bow discone, discone located amidship, bowsprit trussed-whip, stub-mast quad fan, and fore-mack trussed whip. Of the most feasible antenna options, the only significant communications-range advantage belongs to the stub-mast quad fan. (Author)
